Aalfred and Aalbert

Written and illustrated by Morag Hood

I was recommended this book by Anna Doherty, the author and illustrator behind the fantastic book “Sticky“.

It’s a sweet little tale of two aardvarks who, despite being lonely, seem destined not meet. Aalfred sleeps in the day and only comes out at night. Aalbert sleeps at night and only comes out during the day. Bird tries to lend a helping to unite the aardvarks but isn’t very successful. Then, one day, something out of the ordinary happens…

Morag Hood is a children’s author and illustrator from Edinburgh. Morag has a master’s degree in children’s illustration and has won lots of awards for her amazing work. Next on my wishlist is “Colin and Lee, carrot and pea”.

This is a lovely little story about unexpectedly and accidentally falling in love. It also left me unexpectedly craving broccoli cheese haha! Thank you Anna for the recommendation.
